How long does a windshield replacement take?

Most mobile replacements take 60 to 90 minutes in your driveway or parking lot. After that, safe drive-away time is usually another 30 to 60 minutes depending on the temperature and humidity, and you'll get the exact time before we leave. A rock chip repair is done in about 30 minutes.

Do you work with insurance?

No. Oscar Auto Glass is private pay only: cash, card or transfer. That keeps things simple: you get one flat quote up front with no claim numbers, adjusters or deductibles, and the price you're quoted is the price you pay.

My car has a lot of sensors behind the windshield. Can you still do it?

Yes. Rain sensors, lane cameras (ADAS), heads-up display, heated glass, auto-dimming mirror sensors and antenna glass are all handled routinely. We match the exact glass to your VIN and recalibrate the camera system after the install so lane keeping and automatic braking read correctly again.

Do you repair chips, or only replace glass?

Both. If the chip is smaller than a quarter and out of the driver's direct line of sight, a resin repair usually saves the windshield entirely. If the crack has already run, we'll tell you straight that replacement is the safer call.

What about a window that won't roll up?

That's usually a failed window regulator or motor, not the glass. We diagnose it on site and replace the regulator assembly, so you don't pay for glass you didn't need.

How far do you travel?

The camera behind your windshield has to be re-aimed. Every time.

Lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise and automatic emergency braking all read the road through a camera bonded to the glass. Cheaper installers skip the recalibration because the equipment costs more than the windshield. We do it on every sensor-equipped vehicle.
